"I respect the philosophers’ perspectives (I recommend the books written by Alan Watts) about living the present moment and not being able to really live it if we are constantly in the past or future.
Logic exists in that message, but perhaps it is mostly given so that we can learn to cope with the worries that we feel in our chase for the future and our grip for the past. It does hurt to feel too much, especially when the thoughts are constant.
Each second, we part with traces of our entity and priorities change. You may see that you wanted to be someone important one day, then you realize, all you want is to appreciate the tiny details and not have to worry about reaching a status only to prove your worth.
It is a constant competition, which is not wrong in itself, but when it turns into a destructive one, then yes, it matters."
